Intellectual Property & Copyright Notice

Effective August 28, 2026 · Last updated August 2026

Plain English: Your words are yours — we never even receive them, so there is nothing for us to own. RoomyType — the name, the brand, and the code — belongs to us. Neither side can take what belongs to the other. This notice explains exactly where those lines are.

1. YOUR WRITING: YOUR RIGHTS. FULL STOP.

THE BOTTOM LINE: RoomyType takes zero ownership interest in anything you write. We don’t hold a license to it, a copy of it, or any right in it at all — because it never reaches us.

When you write in RoomyType’s panel, that text is processed entirely within your own browser and is never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server operated by Renderal Studio LLC. As a result, unlike most software or online services, we are not in a position to claim, and do not claim, any copyright, license, or other intellectual property interest in your writing, your drafts, or anything else you compose or dictate using the Extension.

Your writing is yours before, during, and after you use the Extension, in exactly the same way it would be if you had typed it in a plain text file on your own computer. RoomyType makes no claim to be a co-author, collaborator, publisher, or rights holder in any work you write.

2. NO COPYRIGHT TRANSFER: EVER

Nothing in these legal documents — not the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, or this Intellectual Property & Copyright Notice — constitutes or could constitute a transfer, assignment, conveyance, or license of copyright or any other intellectual property right from you to Renderal Studio LLC, because we never take possession of your writing in the first place.

Explicit statement: RoomyType will never assert copyright ownership, co-authorship, or any other intellectual property claim over anything you write using the Extension.

3. NO PROCESSING LICENSE NEEDED (AND THE VOICE DICTATION EXCEPTION)

Most services need a license to your content because they receive and process it on their servers. RoomyType does not. Because your writing never leaves your browser, RoomyType requires no processing license, no storage license, and no display license over your writing — there is nothing for such a license to operate on. This is stronger than a promise not to misuse your content: we structurally cannot, because we never receive it.

3.1 The One Exception: Voice Dictation

The claim above describes typed text. Voice dictation, an optional feature, works differently, and we want to be direct about that.

If you use voice dictation, RoomyType activates your browser’s built-in speech recognition (the Web Speech API), which in Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome transmits your spoken audio to the browser vendor’s speech service to convert it into text, under that vendor’s own terms. RoomyType does not operate or contract for that service and does not receive the audio; dictation sends nothing to roomytype.com. See our Privacy Policy, Section 5 and Section 6, for full detail. Once transcribed, the resulting text is inserted into the panel and stored locally only — we do not receive, retain, or claim any interest in the audio or the transcribed text. The intellectual-property position described in this Notice is unaffected: we still take no ownership interest in anything you write or dictate.

4. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU WRITE AND SEND

CRITICAL: RoomyType does not review, screen, or assess anything you write for copyright, trademark, or any other rights clearance. RoomyType is a writing surface, never a legal determination. That responsibility is entirely yours.

You are solely and exclusively responsible for ensuring that any content you write, dictate, or send using the Extension:

RoomyType bears no liability for any intellectual property infringement, breach of contract, or legal violation arising from content you write or send using the Extension.

5. ROOMYTYPE IS NOT A PARTY TO YOUR USE OF THIRD-PARTY AI SERVICES

RoomyType moves your text, at your direction, into the input field of a Third-Party AI Service you separately chose to use. RoomyType has no involvement in, no knowledge of, and no responsibility for:

Any legal rights, obligations, or disputes arising between you and any third party in connection with content you write or send using RoomyType are entirely between you and those parties. RoomyType is not a party to those arrangements and accepts no liability arising from them.

6. ROOMYTYPE’S PROPRIETARY RIGHTS

Renderal Studio LLC owns all right, title, and interest in and to the RoomyType platform and its proprietary materials, including its software, original website content, and brand assets. 9. TRADEMARK NOTICE

9.1 RoomyType Trademarks

“RoomyType” is a trademark of Renderal Studio LLC. “Renderal Studio” is a trademark of Renderal Studio LLC. All rights reserved. Unauthorized use of these marks, including in domain names, social media handles, product names, or company names, is prohibited and may constitute trademark infringement and unfair competition under applicable law.

9.2 Permitted Trademark Use

You may refer to RoomyType by name in truthful, non-misleading ways. You may not use RoomyType’s name or marks in ways that imply endorsement, partnership, affiliation, or official relationship without our prior written consent.

9.3 Third-Party Trademarks

All third-party trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced by RoomyType, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, and Plunk, are the property of their respective owners. Our reference to these marks is descriptive only and does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.

9.4 Trademark Infringement Reports

If you believe your trademark rights are being infringed in connection with RoomyType, contact hello@roomytype.com with the subject line “Trademark Infringement Notice.” Include the mark at issue, your rights in the mark, and a description of the alleged infringement.

10. TRADE SECRETS AND PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY

The following elements of RoomyType’s platform constitute protectable trade secrets under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), 18 U.S.C. § 1836, and applicable state trade secret law, including the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act (CUTSA):

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract any of these trade secrets, beyond what is already visible through the Chrome Web Store’s standard extension permissions and publicly inspectable code. Violation may result in immediate Account termination and legal action.

11. DMCA: COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT CLAIMS

11.1 RoomyType’s DMCA Policy

RoomyType respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. RoomyType has registered a designated DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office as required for Section 512(c) safe-harbor eligibility. Agent registration is necessary for safe-harbor eligibility but does not, by itself, guarantee safe-harbor protection; Section 512(c) includes additional requirements including notice-and-takedown procedures, and Section 512(i)(1) separately conditions safe harbor on adoption and reasonable implementation of a repeat-infringer policy and accommodation of standard technical measures.

How this applies to RoomyType: Your writing is processed locally in your browser and is not hosted, published, or displayed by RoomyType. This DMCA policy applies to our website, our Chrome Web Store listing, and any current or future feature through which content is made available on or through the Service.

11.2 How to Submit a Takedown Notice

If you believe that content available on or through the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a written DMCA takedown notice to RoomyType’s designated DMCA agent:

DMCA AgentRenderal Studio LLC
Emailhello@renderalstudio.com, Subject: “DMCA Takedown Notice”
Mailing AddressP.O. Box 1413, Simi Valley, CA 93062

Your DMCA takedown notice must include ALL of the following to be valid:

Incomplete notices will not be processed. Knowingly submitting a false DMCA notice may result in liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

11.3 Our Response to Takedown Notices

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material, notify the party who provided it that it has been removed, and provide that party with information about the counter-notice process.

11.4 Counter-Notices

If your content was removed in response to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was in error or based on misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notice to hello@renderalstudio.com with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice,” including: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the material removed and its location before removal; (3) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; (4) your name, address, and telephone number; and (5) a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Renderal Studio LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or their agent. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant files a court action.

11.5 Repeat Infringer Policy

We maintain a firm policy of terminating the Accounts of users who are determined, in our reasonable judgment, to be repeat infringers of third-party intellectual property rights. This policy is adopted and reasonably implemented as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A). Accounts terminated under this policy are not eligible for reinstatement.

11.6 Limitation on Our Liability

We are not responsible for verifying the accuracy of DMCA notices submitted by third parties. Our removal of content in response to a DMCA notice is not an admission that the removed content was infringing. We will not be liable for any damages arising from good-faith compliance with valid DMCA notices.

12. REVERSE ENGINEERING AND PLATFORM INTEGRITY

You agree NOT to:

Violation of this section may constitute misappropriation of trade secrets and may give rise to civil and criminal liability under the Defend Trade Secrets Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), and applicable state law, and may result in immediate License revocation and legal action.

13. OPEN SOURCE COMPONENTS

The RoomyType Extension is built using Manifest V3 and standard, vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, without a third-party framework or build step. Where the Extension or website incorporates any open source components, such components are used in accordance with their applicable open source licenses. Our use of open source components does not affect the proprietary status of RoomyType’s own platform, code, or brand assets described in Section 6. No open source license grants you any rights in RoomyType’s proprietary intellectual property. A list of any open source components is available upon written request to hello@roomytype.com.

14. INTERNATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTIONS

RoomyType’s intellectual property rights are claimed and protected globally, and are recognized and enforceable in all jurisdictions where RoomyType operates or makes the Service available, including:

15. ENFORCEMENT

We reserve the right to enforce our intellectual property rights to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Violations of this Notice — including unauthorized use of our trademarks, reverse engineering of the Extension, trade-secret misappropriation, or misrepresentation of RoomyType’s functionality — may result in:

Our decision not to immediately enforce any provision of this Notice does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision at any future time.

16. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE

Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your Account and via prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before taking effect.
